Requirements Documentation
A North American corporate client wished to align the delivery of services on PeopleSoft for their Canadian and US operations. At that time, there was a US add-on module for administration of Pension Plans, but no Canadian equivalent. To evaluate the feasibility of customizing the US module, Janice worked with a team of consultants to document the functional and technical requirements, and completed a detailed fit analysis to define the customizations needed. The team determined that the project was too expensive to pursue, and developed the business case to support an alternative solution.
System Requirements and Evaluation
A Bermuda Investment Firm had a stated intent to demonstrate e-business leadership and address on-line service capability. In addition, new legislation had increased volumes in outsourcing administration and added complexity in this aspect of the client’s business.
Janice acted as the project manager to develop the systems replacement strategy, assessing the systems options and reviewing the capacity of Canadian vendors to meet the client’s needs. During this process, she developed a high-level business case for the systems options, including a project implementation plan and costing model for the replacement, packaged-based, solution. Client selected recommended option.
As part of a concurrent initiative for the same client, Janice developed detailed design specifications for on-line self-service access for the client’s customers, interviewing representatives across the organization as a basis for integrating the requirements within a larger scale e-business initiative.
